Golf Injury

Beyond the excitement of buying new golf equipment, electronics or apparel or reading up on the latest golf tips or golf instruction, it is critical to also spend time getting your body fit to help prevent golf injury when you play or practice the game of golf.

So here is a quick golf guide that goes beyond golf shot instruction or golf product recommendations to help you stay golf injury free.

First off, you should realize which parts of the body are used the most during the golf swing and ensure that, at a minimum, you have performed the proper golf stretching and pre-round routines necessary to avoid getting a golf injury. Potential golf injury prone areas include the shoulders, hips, wrists, elbows, knees and of course, the lower back.

Second, you should ALWAYS perform the proper golf stretches for these body parts before every round or practice session to avoid golf injury.   Here are a few “go-to” golf stretches we recommend:

* Wrist and forearm stretch – Extend right arm and pull back fingers with left hand – hold for 10 seconds.   Point right hand fingers down and pull with left hand – hold for 10 seconds. Repeat stretch with left forearm and wrist.

* Shoulder and neck stretch – Pull right arm across chest to stretch right shoulder. Rotate head to right to stretch neck and hold for 10 seconds. Repeat with left shoulder.

* Back Stretch – Stand with shoulder width stance and place both hands on end of club. Lean forward while keeping back flat until stretch is felt in shoulders and upper back. Hold 10 seconds and relax.   Repeat 3 times.

* Hip and Lower Back Stretch – Sit on chair, cart or bench. Place right ankle on left thigh. Push down on right knee with right forearm.   Lean forward and feel stretch in right hip. Repeat stretch for left hip.

Third, you should incorporate golf fitness exercises into your regular golf training and golf practice routines to further avoid golf injury. Make sure you do regular cardiovascular exercise including walking, treadmill, biking and/or running. When you play the game, walk the golf course or use a golf pull cart.   Doing so won’t only save you a lot of money, but will burn hundreds of calories in the process and keep your “golf muscles” loose, further preventing golf injury.

Consult with your local gym trainer whoever can recommend specific golf exercises tailored for the golf game.   Do these exercises to reinforce your golf swing mechanics, increase your core power and keep golf injuries from creeping into your game.

Golf Instruction Tips

So you are thinking about golf lessons and are not quite sure where to start your hunt for local golf instruction. Taking golf instruction whether you are really serious about the sport or just wanting to socialise and have a great time will help you obtain a better appreciation of the activity and its rules. There are many spots to start your search but the simplest would be to pull up your internet browser and merely type in a keyword plus the city. For example if you lived in Dallas you would enter golfing instruction Dallas without the quotes. I’ve found that placing the town after the keyword mainly returns the most impressive results. Alternative routes to research and find spots to receive golf instruction would be to contact your local golf course or sporting products store. These spots will usually have contact information for PGA golf trainers in your neighborhood. Also, many golf clubs will have instructors that are either on staff or contracting to utilize the facility for instruction.

There are several different points to consider when researching a great place for golf instruction. If you’re looking for your youngster then i would advise beginning with the high school systems. Learn if their school offers a course in golf instruction. You may also find that some schools offer training for adults as well .

When researching for golf instruction I have discovered that many folks glance at the level of the golf instructor while others will research the facility and location. One other thing to consider when researching places for golf instruction would be the cost. Basing your decision on only one of these elements would be like a horse wearing blinders. I would recommend choosing a location near your home first then studying the coach and cost. It’s potentially not a bad idea to drive to a place further away from your house if it implies getting better golf instruction for you or your child especially if considering the sport as a pro career. Don’t be afraid to ask your potential golfing instructor about their qualifications as well as referrals that you may call. View one of the golfing instructor’s sessions to get an idea of how much one-to-one instruction you’ll receive if you are going to a group golfing lesson. Then be sure that the facility meets your comfort level. In fact , most people learn faster when the environment is comfortable and relaxing. Having the ability to relax and talk with your golf instructor will prove very beneficial in your capability to shine at a much faster pace than if you’re learning from a place that makes you uncomfortable.

Discovering a place that offers group golf instruction would definitely save you money over the cost of one-to-one non-public golf lessons. If a facility does offer group golf instruction be certain to find out how huge the group will be for each training program. Usually a large group will not give you enough targeted attention from the golfing instructor at last costing you time and cash not well spent. But if the group golf instruction is constrained to a tiny size of 4 to 6 scholars at a time then you would stand to gain from the lessons.

There also are many spots to take golf instruction that offer glorious coaching aids which help the golf instructor better critique your present abilities as well as better track your progress. While training aids are electrifying and they without doubt have a part to play in teaching the beginner, nothing beats quality head to head golf instruction with a professional who knows and loves the game.

Keep in mind, learning golf, as with any instructional process, can only be attained if the individual taking the lesson is prepared to practice outside the classes. Practicing daily and putting into action what you have learned on a regular basis is the right way to enhance your newly gained golf talents.

Golf Training Equipment

A game that is played based on an individual’s thinking power and physical strength does require some amount of training. If a person were to think that they dont need any training, they’re likely to humiliate themselves on the course. Golf training equipments are created by companies to help people master the game, and to judge their own playing abilities. Be it swinging, or shooting the ball off the tee, judging the speed and distance, all these may be analyzed and studied using the equipments. Since golf is a solo game, it is necessary to learn the small details before stepping onto the course to try shooting a birdie or a hole in one. It is not as easy as it looks, and requires some amount of practice and training similar to any other sport.

The training equipment is basically to help the player understand his own abilities and strengths or weaknesses. How is the game played? Where do you have to give more pressure? How far will the ball travel? How fast is it likely to go?are some questions for which answers lie within the equipments. There are a few amateurs who think too much of themselves and dont care too much for the training tools, and are unable to maintain consistency in their game. A stroke of luck might be with them during their initial games, but as they grow with the game, they will require training to keep up with others. Competition is very high in this as well, since there are players from across the globe participating in the tournaments trying to get the best handicap.

There are a few tricks and tips that every players picks up from the training sessions, which is the bottom line why training is required in the first place. Using a speed meter will assess the speed of your shot, or maybe a half swing stand will help better the way you swing your club. For every movement there is an equipment that may be utilized, it all depends on the player and their passion for the game. As you play, you’ll zero in on where you need improvement, and the areas that need to be focussed on. Based on this study, you can pick out equipments that’ll help make it better. Be it Putting, or a general rowing machine, you’ll need to get your golf basics and physical fitness in shape before playing serious games. Golf training equipments are found in all golf clubs, and are a boon to players who cannot afford to spend a lot of money buying them, but are in dire need of some extra assistance. These may be made use of before or after a game, or to make practice shots. Have a target in a distance, and play towards it, making sure you have your concentration corrected. Similarly, you could try every aspect of the game on the training range till you are ready for the professional golf.

Golf Swing Lesson

I just signed up for my 2nd set of golf lessons and they have switched up what I have been taught to do. Instead of trying to hit a golf shot with a straight trajectory. . My instructor is telling me my bread and butter should be a draw. . Everything feels different. . You guys think this is a good idea? His reasoning is that a straight golf shot is the hardest of all to hit consistently. . Mixed results so far. . What you guys think. Do you know what I found? Alas my kidney has burst

Golf Instruction Videos

Golf has become one of the most popular hobbies to really stand the test of time. There are people in all countries and from every different walk of life who enjoy a good game of golf and who are always looking for ways to improve their game. Golf instruction video programs are a really terrific way for people to gain the training and instruction that they need to become better golfers.

While having golfing lessons under the tutelage of a professional golf instructor can be very beneficial, as well as discussing golf improvement tips with fellow golfers, many feel there is something especially helpful about using instruction video tapes as learning aids. Because of their effectiveness, golfing lessons on video or DVDs nowadays, have become more and more popular since they were first introduced.

Even professional golf instructors who teach golfing lessons for a living acknowledge that there are several advantages to golf instruction video programs that other types of golf instruction cannot match. There are four primary advantages to the golf training videos that stand out and are often the biggest selling points of these types of golf training aids.

Instructional video programs provide visual learning and this is very important to many people. There is a great deal of research that proves when people engage their senses of both sight and sound, they tend to learn better and faster and they retain the information much better. Also, most beginning golfers, and even those who are experienced, tend to prefer to see golf swing improvement techniques demonstrated, as opposed to simply reading about the method being taught.

The second reason why golf training videos are popular, as well as advantageous, is because they are more accessible to more people. They can save people a lot of money as compared to hiring a golf pro for a series of golf lessons, which mainly will cost somewhere in the range of $50 to $150 per lesson. Instead, a DVD golf instruction program can deliver the same information but at a small fraction of the price. As a bonus, you can always go back and review any lesson at any time without having to dig into your wallet again to pay for a brush-up lesson.

The third advantage of buying instructional videos is that you can make the most of technology and stop and rewind the video at any point, which is not something that is possible in the presence of a live instructor, especially if you are taking group golfing lessons, as opposed to individual instruction. Being able to rewind and review any part of a particular lesson, or the entire lesson, helps to improve learning and retention through repetition.

The fourth major benefit to using instructional video programs is being able to take advantage of the unique technologies of video production that can be applied to instruction. Golf training videos can utilize many helpful presentation techniques to enhance explanations and present the information more effectively. It is common to see golf videos that use inserts, split screens, close up views, and 3D, computer generated graphics to teach the fundamentals of golf.

While these are the four biggest advantages to using golf instruction video programs, if you surveyed people who have used them, then you would probably find several other benefits that they have enjoyed from this approach as well. Because the teaching style is different from one instructor to another, you might want to see if there is a pro shop or a website that allows you to view sample lessons before purchasing an entire program.

Mental Golf

I’ve been playing for years and I practice a lot. But I’m wondering if I’m stressing to much every time I go up to hit the ball. A friend of mine has told me about a Golf Mental Conditioning Program that he listens to before he goes out and it works. He listens to it 30 minutes before he hits the greens. He always seems very relaxed and self confident. He plays simmering good too. What do you think. Basically… Many pros have a mantra to help not get distracted by the last shot / hole. – A good hole makes you feel bullet-prrof, and you try too hard next shot. . And slice/hook it – a poor approach shot gets you in a defeated frame of mind, and you add another 3+ shots to the hole Whenever I tell myself "Avoid the water" the ball goes there like a homing misslie. A negative mantra is keeping the wrong message at the front of your mind. My calming mantra is "Business as normal"

Proper Golf Swing

I'm taking lessons right now and really trying to get my swing down right. . What I am experiencing though is that my golf shot/ball flight (not swing. . Maybe it still is bad. . But thats why I’m taking lessons). . Seems to be getting worse. . I think its because now that my form is getting better and I’m beginning to really understand the mechanics of a proper golf swing (although exectution is a totally different issue) I am not adjusting my swing to fit my equipment as much as in the past. . I am really hitting a wall. . Anyone else experience the same thing when they really began to understand the golf swing? I have about 12 lessons left and really thinking about just stopping for now and getting some fitted clubs. . What are some of your thoughts? In response to danbetti. . I’m not really blaming my equipment for my bad golf game. . What im saying is, if your clubs dont fit. . Can you really perform what should be a textbook golf swing. . I kno eldrick woods can pick up any club and smash the cover the cover off. . Ive got some cheap clubs that are cast iron and apparently very hard metal, so the pro shop was not able to adjust the lie. . Which they say is about 2. 75-3 degrees to upright. . Which means at address my arms cannot hang the way a "proper" swing calls for. . I asked this question because whats the point of me taking lessons learning how to make a good golf swing, when my equipment prevents right from the get go a proper set up. . I’m asking this question to find out if others have faced the same thing. . I was not really blaming on my cheap clubs. . I’m partly blaming clubs dont dont fit properly. . So this question applies whether or not im swing $2K set that dont fit. . Correction not danbetti. . Wbaker, the 2nd response. Today I found out that… For me, golf is simply a game of nerves against confidence. There are so many factors that come into play in a golf swing. And there are so many (big and little) things you have to remember during the 1. 5 second you take to make a complete golf swing. Once you are able to master the correct techniques and henceforth perfect your golf swing you can virtually play a nice round of golf using any type of club. Of course you do need to have the right choice of club (that suits you), in terms of its length, 'swing weight', regular/stiff shaft, the right size grip, squared or offset face, etc. The golf pro-shop assistance could advice you on this aspect of the equipment.

Exercise For Golf

A friend and I have never played golf and thought we should go to the driving range to see how we do. We were wondering if this is a good form of exercise. Basically… Hitting a bucket of balls at a driving range is OK for exercise. You will be swinging your arms, turning your body and using muscles in a little different way than usual. However, if you are intending to do so to learn how to play golf, I suggest you find a golf instructor in your are to learn how to set up, grip the club, swing the club, hold your head, etc. Otherwise, you may be "practicing" all the wrong things at the range, and creating bad habits that are hard to break later. Check with the public courses in your neighborhood. They may have some "freebie" introductory programs they conduct for new players. Good Luck. . And hit 'em long, straight and often.

Now, the first thing that you need to understand is that you should never go out for the game without you proper gear. Make sure that you’ve all the equipment that you might need in case the weather conditions change or something unexpected happens. Once you are leaving, make sure that you’ve all the proper clubs and the proper amounts of every thing that you might need. If you ask my personal opinion I would recommend you that you should arrive at the game with a plenty of time. The best time to reach at the game will be around thirty to forty minutes before the tee off time so that you’ve a good enough time to warm up and stretch. Once you are done with your warm up, the next thing will be the stance that you will need to take before the tee off. Just make sure that you’ve a very good stance and are feeling comfortable in that stance. This is important since the stance vitally affects your overall shot. Further more you need to concentrate on the game. This means that you will need to take your mind off everything that you do in your normal routine and put all the concentration in the game.

So, now what are you waiting for? Go ahead, its about time that you become a good golfer. If you want to know what to do before tee off and how to approach the ball then you need the full golf improvement drills course This will lower your handicap by 7 – 10 strokes guaranteed.
